Our Story

Unity Behavioral Services was established with a passion for making a positive impact in the field of ABA therapy.

We are a team of professionals with incredibly different backgrounds who came together on a common principle called "Ikigai". Our journey is fueled by a commitment to continuous improvement and the belief that every individual deserves access to effective behavioral support.

Put simply,

the kiddos

come first.

Our Services

Our services are organized to achieve continuous progress and long-run comprehension. Each program is built specifically for the kiddo and parents.

Programs and methods are adapted using the latest industry research and as staff with decades of experience implementing behavioral therapy services. Anything is possible when experience meets integrity and empathy.

The seven dimensions of ABA include:

1. Generalization
2. Effective
3. Technological
4. Applied
5. Conceptually Systematic
6. Analytic
7. Behavioral

Generalization

Behavior changes achieved through ABA should be durable and occur across different settings, people, and situations. The goal is for the behavior change to be maintained over time and generalized to various contexts.

Example: When teaching a child social skills in a therapy setting, we will ensure that these skills are used in different social environments, such as at school and during family gatherings.

Effective

Effectiveness in ABA therapy means the interventions and services worked. The goal is to achieve outcomes that make a real difference in the individual's life.

Example: When implementing a behavior plan, we will use information gathered during sessions to improve programs and achieve a substantial reduction in disruptive behavior with an increase in academic performance.

Technological

ABA procedures should be described in a clear, detailed, and replicable manner. This ensures that interventions can be implemented consistently by different practitioners and caretakers.

Example: Our programs provide a step-by-step protocol for a behavior modification, including specific instructions for implementation and data collection.

Applied

Application emphasizes the importance of focusing on behaviors that have significant and meaningful impacts on the individual's life. It involves addressing issues that are socially relevant and improve the individual's quality of life.

Example: During our assessment, it is clear that the kiddo has trouble communicating. We will design interventions to help the kiddo improve communication skills to better interact with peers and family.

Conceptually Systematic

ABA practices must use research-based principles and theories of behavior. This ensures that interventions are systematic using an established framework and are consistent with behavioral principles.

Example: We use reinforcement theory to design programs for increasing desirable behaviors. During a program to encourage task completion, we will model behavior, prompt actions, and positively reinforce successes.

Analytic

This dimension involves using data to demonstrate a functional relationship between the intervention and the behavior change. It requires therapists to show progression over time due to the intervention.

Example: When reviewing the kiddos progress, it becomes clear that successful habits follow positive reinforcement using toys. Our program will increase the use of toys to positively reinforce successes.

Behavioral

ABA targets observable and measurable behaviors rather than internal states or hypothetical constructs. The focus is on changing specific behaviors that can be seen and measured.

Example: When a kiddo is demonstrating an inability to create structure, we will teach them to follow a daily routine by reinforcing each step of the routine as it is completed.
