Initial Assessment
Our Initial Assessment is a crucial first step in crafting a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses specific challenges and goals.

We Work With Many Insurances

About Initial Assessment
The Initial Assessment is a thorough evaluation conducted by our experienced Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
All kiddos begin their journey with Unity Behavioral Services by completing an Initial Assessment. The Initial Assessment helps us understand the kiddo's strengths, areas for improvement, and behavioral concerns. This information is essential for developing an effective, evidence-based intervention plan.
Why is the Initial Assessment
Important?
Personalized Treatment
The Initial Assessment allows us to tailor therapy plans to the unique needs of each client.
Goal Setting
We work with families to set meaningful, achievable goals to improve the individual's and family's quality of life.
Data-Driven Decisions
The assessment provides baseline data to track progress and adjust the therapy plan.
What to Expect During the
Assessment
Intake Interview
Our experienced BCBAs will conduct an intake interview to gather valuable insights into your child’s behavior, communication skills, and social interactions. This interview helps us understand the child’s unique needs by observing them in various settings, such as home, school, or our clinic.
Direct Observation
During this stage, our BCBAs will directly observe your child in their natural environments. This allows us to gain a deeper understanding of their behaviors and how they interact with others in everyday situations.
Skill Assessment
Our team will assess your child’s current skill levels across different areas, such as communication, socialization, and daily living skills. This helps identify strengths and areas that may need targeted support.
Behavioral Assessment
We conduct a detailed behavioral assessment to understand specific behaviors that may need intervention. This step is crucial in developing a tailored behavior support plan that addresses your child’s unique challenges.
Collaboration
Throughout the assessment process, we emphasize collaboration with the family. We ensure that you are fully informed and involved, working together to create a comprehensive and effective treatment plan for your child.
After the Assessment
Following the Initial Assessment, our team will create a comprehensive treatment plan based on our findings and recommendations.
This report will serve as the foundation for developing a customized ABA therapy plan. We will review the treatment plan with the family, discuss the proposed goals and strategies, and ensure that everyone is aligned and comfortable with the plan before taking next steps.
